History of Glossop Osteopathy Clinic

Glossop Osteopathy Clinic was founded in 2015 by Chris Hanson and Elisa Dispenza.  Both graduates of the ESO, they established a thriving practice treating common musculo-skeletal conditions, as well as a busy Maternity and Childrens Clinic.

Kate Balcomb – Johns joined the clinic in 2023, where her experience in cranial osteopathy, and the treatment of newborns and mothers during pregnancy has continued to grow the clinic and establish its reputation.

Our Story

Where It All Began

Kate and Chris studied at the European School of Osteopathy, both graduating in 2014 with an Integrated Masters in Osteopathy.  The University has a long history of educating osteopaths, having been founded in Paris in 1951 as Ecole Française d’Ostéopathie before moving to England in 1965.

The osteopathic teaching at the ESO reflects a broad spectrum of teaching.  During the four year course Chris ans Kate learned traditional osteopathic and cranial techniques.  The University also ran a thriving Maternity Clinic where both practitioners had their first experience of treating newborn babies and women during pregnancy.

Since graduation both osteopaths have gone on to develop their own specialisms.   Kate has focused her ongoing training on cranial osteopathy, and the osteopathic treatment of newborns and mothers during pregnancy.  Chris is more focused on postural muscle strain and exercise rehabilitation.
